18400 kilos of Areca Nuts was recovered in Rauntlang area in Mizoram by Serchhip Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles, under the support of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East).

The operation was carried out by a team of Assam Rifles carried out the operation based on a tip-off.

The total cost of the recovered Areca Nuts is estimated to be Rs 51,52,000.

One individual was detained, after the Customs Preventive Force Champhai District seized the contraband item.
