Mizoram : Report to medical counters; UK returnees

Considering the new strain of coronavirus, all the returnees from United Kingdom and other European countries are asked by the Mizoram Government to visit the medical counter in all the entry points of the state.

To stop the mutant coronavirus from spreading in the state, medical counters are set up at Lengpui Airport, Vairengte and other entry points where the returnees from the United Kingdom and Europe must report, read a notification issued by the state government.

Both RT-PCR lab test and Rapid Antigen Tests are necessary for the UK returnees, the order notified.
The notification read, the returnees will have to be placed under quarantine at designated facilities until the confirmatory test.

No home quarantine will be allowed, it read.

Union Health Ministry said, till now 20 cases were found positive for the new strain of Coronavirus among the UK returnees.

The ministry said, eight cases were reported from Delhi, seven from Karnataka and one each case was reported from Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Andra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Telangana.
