Mizoram: State Govt extends Aizawl’s partial lockdown for another week

To combat the growing Covid-19 instances in the state, particularly in Aizawl, the Mizoram government has prolonged a partial lockdown in the Aizawl Municipal Corporation (AMC) region and some limitations in other areas of the state for another seven days, till August 21.

From August 8 to August 14, a government decree issued earlier on August 7 enforced partial lockdown in the AMC region and some Covid-19 limitations in other parts of the state.

Because the state capital continues to see an increase in Covid-19 cases, the latest order published on Saturday said that existing standards must be followed to prevent the virus from spreading further.

According to the directive, Deputy Commissioners in regions outside of AMC would develop unique recommendations based on the area’s Covid-19 situation.
