Nagaland: Kohima Municipal Council Became First ULB to go Digital 


The Kohima Municipal Council became the first Urban Local Body (ULB) in Nagaland on Wednesday to go digital with the launch of an online services (ekmc) portal that was inaugurated by the Advisor of Urban development & Municipal affairs, Neikesalie Kire in Kohima.

Speaking on the occasion, Kohima Smart City Development Limited (KSCDL) CEO Er K Theünuo said that with the help of the smart city mission, Nagaland’s capital is taking steps to introduce online digital systems to the public by using the latest available software technology. The Mission not only aims to develop Kohima but also to make the entire State become a leading entity in e-Governance.

He further stated that with the introduction of eKMC, the public can now apply for KMC services such as sales permit, temporary permit, trade licence, advertisement permit, residential certificate from the comfort of their home. He says that eKMC is a complete end-to-end online system, so that citizens and local entrepreneurs can apply for these services from anywhere and at any time.

Er K Theünuo informed that the KMC office will also be able to process and approve applications completely online. The approved licences and certificates will also be digital, but payments can be done both online and offline as per the convenience.
