On Tuesday, the State Education Department and Finance Department was requested by the All Nagaland Hindi Teachers Union (ANHTU) to clear due salaries of Hindi Teachers who were appointed in the year 2012-2013, under Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS).
The teachers have not received their salaries since September 2020, read a press release by the Union President, Ruchunlo Tep on Tuesday.
The issue of payment of due salaries for Hindi teachers has been a long affair. The Union stated, “The teachers are facing untold hardships even to fulfill our basic needs.”
The Education and Finance Departments were requested to clear the pending salaries before Christmas. The departments were urged to make sure that the salaries of the teachers are paid regularly.
