Nagaland : Dzükou Valley reopens from Feb 1

Entry to Dzükou Valley will be prohibited till the end of January, informed Southern Angami Youth Organisation (SAYO). After taking required actions, the valley will reopen for its visitors from February 1 onward.

An in-depth examination will be carried out before February by organizations around Dzükou valley, stated SAYO President, Zakieleto Tsükrü and General Secretary, Adukho Kintso in a press release.

The trekkers were reminded by SAYO to bring their own bedding requirements and to observe the COVID-19 SOPs during their visit to Dzükou in the coming month.

At a time only 50 persons will be only allowed. Entry tickets will need to be obtained from SAYO for pre-booking visitors. Visitor identity cards will be required at the entry points.

No trespassing via different routes will be allowed except for the two permitted entry points via Jakhama or Viswema village in Kohima.

Trekkers will have to stay at the allotted Dzükou rest house, as no camping will be allowed in the valley or inside caves, informed SAYO.
