Nagaland : Inauguration of Jotsoma Village Gate

MLA of 8th Western Angami Assembly Constituency, Keneizhakho Nakhro inaugurated the Jotsoma Village Gate on December 9 along the Bypass Road, Jotsoma. ‘Thejavakhrie Tshü,’ (a social group comprising of villagers from Jotsoma village in the age group between 60 to 65 years) constructed the village gate.

The construction of the Village Gate holds significance as it acts as a dividing line between Jotsoma village and the adjoining village, and it will also avoid misunderstanding on boundary issues afterwards, said MLA Nakhro, as per a DIPR report.

The ‘Thejavakhrie’ group was praised by Nakhro for building the gate for the village even though the group members are mostly retired persons in their 60s. Their faultless work will be a guiding light for the village, he added.

The Village Council, Vice Chairman, Kepelhukho Senotsu, Head GB, Jotsoma village, spoke about the history, meaning and significance of building village gates during the inauguration. Thejavakhrie group members, Kekoseto Nakhro, Kekhrieseto Peseyie, Rev Savito Nagi and Kekongulhu Sano also spoke about the history and activities of the group.
