NPF expresses indignation over ‘Disturbed Area’ decision

The further extension of ‘disturbed area’ status in Nagaland for another six months was resented by the Naga People’s Front (NPF) on Sunday.

Under the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, Nagaland was announced as ‘disturbed area’ by the Ministry of Home Affairs, on December 30.

The order came as a shock as the NPF were expecting a solution to the problem.

Government of India (GoI) was requested by the NPF to consider its decision once again and annul the Act and “exhibit its sincerity and expedite for a speedy conclusion to the vexed Naga political problem.”
