Sikkim recorded six COVID-19 deaths in the last 24 hours with 4 of them at STNM Hospital on May 4. All 4 patients were admitted in the ICU of the COVID Hospital.
The CRH Hospital recorded one COVID-19 death and a sixth fatality was recorded from North Sikkim. This was also the first death reported from Mangan District Hospital.
Meanwhile, COVID-19 cases continue to rise with 221 new cases recorded on Tuesday. The district tally has reached 8,919 with 2,050 active cases and 89 recoveries. There are 178 COVID-19 patients admitted in the hospitals across Sikkim with STNM Hospital housing 120 of them, 49 in CRH and 9 at the Mangan District Hospital.
East Sikkim once again recorded the highest, 171 new cases, taking the district tally to 6,738. There are more number of cases recorded in the district everyday, than the cumulative tally of cases in North Sikkim, which has 130 cases recorded with 2 new cases.
