Ragul K., the Gangtok district collector with additional charge of the newly-established Pakyong district, called a meeting today at the conference hall of the ADC (Development) office in Pakyong.
The meeting was called to discuss the upcoming Republic Day celebrations as well as other issues in the Pakyong district.
Gangtok SP Dr. Shiva P. Yellasari, who is also in charge of Pakyong, Pakyong ADC (Development), SDM, SDPO, officers and staff from various departments, as well as engineers and representatives from the NDRF, attended the meeting.
Ragul K. congratulated everyone in attendance on achieving district status, saying that the officers and staff should now be motivated to work diligently. The program’s details were briefly discussed, and each department was assigned responsibility for making the event a success.
Ragul stated that the program’s sequence should be consistent with that of the capital, Gangtok.
The community hall was chosen as the location due to the recent weather forecast, which predicted rain in the coming days. He requested that the venue be thoroughly sanitised the day before and that alternate seating arrangements be made in accordance with the Covid protocol. The community hall has a capacity of about 200 people, and the number of people present should not exceed 100.
SP Yellasari went over the specifics of the guard of honour and the law enforcement’s responsibilities.
All officers and staff were asked to work together and with sincerity in order to organise Pakyong’s first Republic Day event after becoming a district.
