He added, “Teyongsi Sirijunga Sawan Tongnam marks the birth of the famous 18th-century scholar Teyongsi Sirijunga also known as Mahatma Sirijunga who is remembered for his legendary role as a revivalist of the Limboo culture and literature in the State. He is honoured for his teachings, evident interest in Limboo literature and a “torch-bearer” for preserving Limboo literature”.

“The occasion sets an example on the importance of preserving culture and traditions. I appeal to the people to draw inspiration from him and play a proactive role in preserving and promoting the heritage passed on from generations”, he concluded.
