Sikkim : Extension of state-wide lockdown till June 7

The prevailing lockdown in Sikkim has been extended till June 7 by the Government after a high-level COVID review meeting was conducted on 31 May.

Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang chaired the meeting to review the COVID situation in the state. Few exemptions were also made during the review meeting.

Ration and vegetable shops will remain open between 7 am to 12 noon.

Relaxations have been placed in agricultural activities at GPUs, construction activities under PMGSY, Sikkim Garib Awaas Yojana and other centralized activities, which involves local labourers as well.

The Health Department was sought an update by the CM over the various measures taken for supply of COVID relief materials as he discussed over the scenario.

The Sikkim government is importing vaccine doses from the centre in order to ramp up the vaccination drive.
