The Molecular Laboratory of Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences was inaugurated by Governor of Sikkim. The inaugural ceremony was also attended by Chief Minister PS Tamang and Health Minister Dr MK Sharma.

National Accreditation Board of Testing & Calibration Laboratories gets the credit for the molecular testing laboratory in Sikkim.

Permission for initiation of COVID-19 testing has been given to the Lab. It will also conduct HIV testing and many more. In addition to the Govt. Hospital in the state, the testing facility has served as a boon for the people of Sikkim.
