Sikkim : Lockdown extends till June 28 with relaxations

Lockdown in Sikkim has been further extended with restrictions till June 28. Since May 16, the state has been under lockdown. Earlier, the lockdown was extended till June 21 with a few relaxations and regulations.

The relaxation and regulations imposed on June 11 would remain same, along with permission for vehicles to run on odd-even basis for intra-district travel. On odd dates, vehicles having odd registration number will be allowed on streets and vice versa. The rules also apply for taxis as well as private and government vehicles. Two wheelers will run without pillon riders.

Odd-even rule does not imply to Government vehicles, which will be allowed to travel from 9 am to 5:30 pm for local transport. Commercial goods vehicles, including trucks ferrying essential commodities will be relaxed from the rule.

The rules don’t apply for inter-district travel, which is still restricted.

All licensed standalone shops, including vehicle showrooms, auto garages, tire shops, shall be permitted to open till 5 pm. Weekly closure of shops shall be according to existing notifications issued by concerned authorities.

Private commercial establishments will function with 50% staff during the lockdown. Operation of e-commerce and home delivery of products shall be allowed till 5 pm.

All restaurants, fast food centers, sweet shops and bakeries can function till 8 pm with 50% seating capacity. Home delivery of food items will also be permitted till 8 pm.
All gymnasiums, barber shops, spas, saloons and parlours shall be allowed to run till 5 pm with 50% capacity.

Pharmaceuticals companies can operate with 100% staff while other factories and production units will have 50% staff strength.

All state government offices and PSUs, boards and corporations will be allowed to operate with 50% staff strength.

Night curfew continues to be in place from 9 pm to 6 am.
