Sikkim : Lockdown extends till May 31

To curb COVID-19 infection the Sikkim government has extended the lockdown till May 31, informed Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang (Golay).

All state government offices, shops, including ration shops, private commercial establishments, institutions, gymnasiums, markets and factories, shall remain closed. Sectors engaged in the production of medicines, medical equipment, oxygen will remain operational.

Sikkim lockdown guidelines

  1. Ration and vegetable shops will open from 8 to 11 am during the lockdown
  2. Medicine shops will remain open
  3. Milk vending shops will remain open from 7.00 am to 11.00 am
  4. People and vehicles moving around for maintenance of all essential services for example hospitals, veterinary services, telecom, banks, insurance companies, power supply, sanitation and waste management, water supply, urban services, post offices, social security institutions like old age home etc should carry valid documents, valid ID card or deployment letter
  5. No congregation is allowed till May 31
  6. People going for vaccination will need to carry Adahar card and relevant documents
