Sikkim Chief Minister PS Tamang’s Facebook page was hacked by miscreants at around 5 pm on Saturday.
The CM’s Facebook page is mainly used to spread Government statements and information.

The page became inactive after it was hacked, but it was active again at around 9 pm.
The profile picture was replaced with a random girl’s image by the time the page became active after it was hacked.

The authorities were able to take control of the page in the wee hours of Sunday.
The posts that were missing between January and February, appeared missing following the hacking, which were later restored.
Meanwhile, the Sikkim Police has begun an inquiry into the case., The case has been registered under IT Act.
