For the first ever Indian team to take part in ‘Youth Forum Switzerland: Global Changemakers Project 2020’, two students from Paljor Namgyal Girls’ School has been selected as members.
The International School of Zug and Luzern, Switzerland confirmed the participation of Disha Thapa of class- IX and Sudiksha Pradhan of class-XI Science dept, in the form of an invitation.
Both will be coordinating for their roles by their mentor and Physics teacher Ivan Dorjee Lepcha.
As an assistant mentor of an innovation teams, Lepcha was a part of the Indo-Russian collaboration between AIM (NIT Aayog) and SIRIUS (Russia), in earlier times.
YFS: GCP 2020 is a global forum that addresses pressing global issues and empowers student-change makers to come up with innovative solutions.
The Atal Innovation Mission has kept the students occupied during the pandemic via online webinars, online learning modules and competitions in its website, stated a press release from the PNG School. AIM encouraged for applying for this prestigious event, the release added.
It is expected that the youth forum will host over a thousand students from Europe, USA and India among others. During the event, the students will get to interact with the leaders holding special focus on their preferred UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The final event is scheduled between January 25 and 29, which will be conducted virtually.
