Tripura do not engage in negative politics, says TIPRA chief Pradyot Debarma

Tripura Royal scion and The Indegenious Progressive Regional Alliance (TIPRA) chief Pradyot Debbarma on Monday appealed to other political parties to avoid negative politics ahead of the TTAADC elections.

TIPRA will be contesting the TTAADC (Tripura Tribals Area Autonomous District Council) elections for the first time.

Addressing the media at Ujjayanta Palace in Agartala, Debbarma said that  ‘everyone is thinking and working for the development of the state. I request all political parties to abstain from violence.’

Clashes between different political parties have been reported from different parts of Tripura ahead of the TTAADC elections. Many people have sustained various degrees of injuries in these clashes.

Pradyot Debbarma said that after the TTAADC elections, he will meet with Tripura CPI(M) leader Jitendra Choudhury, Tripura deputy chief minister Jishnu Debbarma, Tripura Congress president Pijush Biswas and Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb.

The TIPRA chief stated that, ‘Problems like scarcity of drinking water, electricity, housing, road connectivity should be addressed. The condition of roads in the TTAADC areas is very deplorable and if his party comes to power in TTAADC then it will release a white paper on the first day, describing the amount of money ADC will get and in which purpose it has been used’, later he added.
