Assembly speakers of NE against Racism; memo to PM Modi

A memorandum addressing racism issues against the people of North East Indian will be submitted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. The decision was taken by all the Assembly Speakers of the eight North-Eastern states, informed Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh.

The Speaker of Arunachal Pradesh, Pasang Dorjee Sona held a Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Zone III virtual meet to discuss about the racial statement made by YouTuber Paras Singh against Congress MLA from Arunachal Pradesh, Ninong Ering on June 11(Friday).

The virtual sitting was attended by speakers of Mizoram, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and the Deputy Speaker of Assam.

Lyngdoh stated that, the issue of racial discrimination in India should be resolved before it harms the minds of the upcoming generation.
