Following the death of Biswajit Debbarma, the Tripura Royal Scion Pradyot Kishore Debbarma has warned about a massive movement if the people accountable for Biswajit’s death are not caught within a week.
‘Tipra Motha’ will start a mass movement across the State, if the ‘murderers’ of Biswajit Debbarma are not arrested within a week, he said.
Notably, ‘Tipra Motha’ has already donated
A sum of Rs 50 thousand has already been donated to the family members of deceased by ‘Tipra Motha’. Donation of another Rs 50 thousand will be made tomorrow.
Pradyot Kishore Debbarma speaking to media said, “Over a week has passed, but no arrest has been made so far”.
Pradyot Debbarma criticized the Tripura Government for their failure that led to clashes in Kanchanpur.
“Some vested interests are taking advantage of opposition to Bru settlement and are spreading communal tensions,” he said.
Several campaigns are being organized by the ‘Tipra Motha’ in parts of the State seeking arrest of the ‘murderers’ of Biswajit Debbarma.
On 21st of November, violent conflicts took place at Kanchanpur in Tripura.
During open fire by security personnel on an agitating crowd at Chamtilla in Panisagar one civilian, Srikanta Das got killed. The protest was against the government’s plan to settle Mizoram Bru refugees in Kanchanpur.
Later, fire service staff, Biswajit Debbarma (40) was lynched by an angry mob. He was trapped in the clashes.
The violence saw injury of about 23 people, that included 15 police and fire service personnel.
