Mujibur Islam Majumdar, the leader of the Tripura Trinamool Congress (TMC), has died as a result of injuries sustained in an attack by “BJP goons.” Majumdar died in the early hours of Wednesday at the SSKM Hospital in Kolkata.

TMC leader Mujibur Islam Majumdar was seriously injured in an attack by “BJP goons” in August last year, shortly after leaving the saffron party. Majumdar was the second son of Mansur Ali, the former Tripura agriculture minister in the previous Congress government.

Mujibur Islam Majumdar suffered from a variety of diseases, including cardiovascular disease, after allegedly being beaten at his home by “BJP goons.” His wife and two children survive him. The death of Mujibur Islam Majumdar has elicited strong emotions from the TMC.

The TMC holds the BJP accountable for Majumdar’s killing. TMC leader Subal Bhowmik has sought harsh punishment for those responsible for Mujibur’s premature death.

“There is absolutely no law and order in Tripura. The state has collapsed into its darkest days under BJP’s misrule. We demand justice for Majibur Islam Majumder,” Tripura TMC said.
