The assessment criteria for the students of Class 10 and Class 12 was announced after a high-level committee meeting was held by the Tripura government on June21(Monday).
After suggestions from health experts and concerns raised by parents amid the prevailing COVID-19 situation, the board examinations were cancelled on June 19.
Education minister Ratan Lal Nath chaired a meeting of the state-based review committee on education and took recommendation from an expert committee to give marks to secondary and higher secondary candidates.
An evaluation process was prepared by the education department after expert committee recommended to give marks to the students.
The headmasters of all the higher and higher secondary schools are directed to bring in the information of the secondary and higher secondary students and send it to the Tripura Board of Secondary Education in a week time.
The marks will be verified by the inspector of school in case of secondary (Madhyamik) students, and district education officer will verify the marks in case of higher secondary students.
The marks secured in the annual examination of Class 9 for the secondary candidates, the subject in which the examination in the pre-board examination in Class 12 was taken, and the marks secured in the internal assessment in Class 10 in the academic year 2020-21 needs to be reported to TBSE.
Similarly, for higher secondary examinees, the marks obtained in theory in the annual examination of Class 11, the marks obtained in the subject in the pre-board examination in Class 12 and the marks obtained in the internal assessment of the school in Class 11 in the academic year 2020-21 should be presented to the TBSE.
The headmasters of all the schools are asked to obtain the marks by June 28 and send them to the boards. The board will declare the results by June 31 after considering all the numbers.
Students who are not satisfied with the results can however take the examination after the Covid-19 situation gets back to normalcy. The marks secured in that exam will be taken as final.
