Biplab Kumar Deb was asked not to conduct the rally at Agartala on seeking people’s mandate on his position as CM on December 13 by Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarma on Thursday informed that Nadda and the newly appointed prabhari (in charge) of Tripura, Provari Binod Sonkar.

CPI (M) and the Indigenous People Front of Tripura (IPFT), who is also an ally in the BJP-led government in the state, criticized the rally.

Biplab Deb was asked not to drag the government into this problematic state, by IPFT, on Wednesday.

The event on December 13 was declared cancelled by the Deputy Chief Minister, Jishnu Debbarma while addressing media persons in Agartala on Thursday afternoon.
