Addressing a public gathering at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, Tripura CM Biplab Kumar Deb said that BJP also wishes to form a government in neighbouring Nepal and Sri Lanka as well.

Biplab Deb said, “The incumbent home minister Amit Saha when was BJP national president in a close interaction in presence of several leaders in state guest house here had told us the planning of the party to expand the governance in Nepal and Sri Lanka.”

Deb stated, “The budget is a step towards making ‘Atmanirbhar South Asia’. The policies and action of India have able to make Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal self-reliant because Narendra Modi led government wants Saab Ka Sath Saab Ka Vikas (inclusive development for all)”, as he appreciated the proposed budget for the next financial year.

A meeting of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) was convened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi after NDA government was installed in 2014. The meeting included the Prime Minister of Pakistan as India forwarded development to the neighbours. The Chief Minister tagged the gesture as ‘exceptional’.

Biplab Kumar Deb said, “The people of West Bengal will say goodbye to Mamata didi, as Modi and Amit Saha have reached Bengal. The flip-flop game of CPM and Congress in Kerala will be over this time because BJP is all set to come into power. The government would not form in Tamil Nadu without BJP. So, lotus will bloom across the country.”

The Chief Minister’s speech against sovereign countries like Nepal and Sri Lanka was sought immediate action by the opposition CPM and Congress. The planning of union home minister Amit Saha to acquire the power of the neighbouring countries as claimed by Biplab Deb was called for an investigation.

Communist leader and former minister Badal Chowdhury said, “Had Saha told this to his leader about good neighbours of India and a democratically elected chief minister revealed it in public, it exposes the mindset of Narendra Modi government. This will not only be interference into internal politics of other countries, but it will also harm India’s foreign policy”.

Congress leader and Tripura Pradesh congress committee Vice President Tapas Dey said, “Such statement from a chief minister is unfortunate and it demands due enquiry into the claim of Biplab Deb and immediate action against him to keep peaceful relation with neighbouring countries.”
