Tripura: Night curfew in Agartala from tonight till April 30

Caught napping by the second and more ferocious surge of COVID-19 various state governments have already taken a slew of measures to contain the escalation of infections and rising fatalities and the Tripura government is the latest to initiate preventive measures.

After having consultations with senior officials and doctors of the health department, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb decided on a night curfew in Agartala town  from 10 P.M. tonight to 5 A.M. Strict measures have not yet been taken as the surge of COVID second wave is still within manageable limits in the state.

This curfew period will continue till April 30 as decided initially by the state government. Apart from this, other regulations have been put into effect on meetings, rallies organized by political parties and social gatherings.

According to the order all gatherings of more than 200 in open places and more than 100 in closed places or halls have been banned. Besides, not more than twenty persons will be allowed for funerals and cremations while cinema halls and auditoriums will run with half of their seating capacity. The police force have been instructed to strictly enforce the regulations.
