Tripura : TIPRA Motha wins Tripura ADC election 2021

The Tripura ADC polls by won by the Tiprasa Indigenous Progressive Regional  Alliance (TIPRA) and its ally, the Indigenous Nationalist Party of Twipra (INPT) with a total of 18 out of 28 seats.

The polls saw the fall of CPI (M) party that was in a leadership position in the Autonomous District Council (ADC) for 15 years.

TIPRA won 16 out of the 23 seats while INPT won 2 out of the 5 contested seats.

From the Takarajala-Jampuijala ADC constituency, TIPRA chief and royal scion Pradyot Manikya Debbarman registered victory and will form the next Executive Committee (EC) in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).

BJP bagged 9 out of the 14 contested seats. The Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura (IPFT) could not register victory in any seat.

Independent candidate, Bhumika Nanda Reang bagged the Gandachara Ganga Nagar seat.

Opposition CPI (M) and Congress could not win any seats.

Previously, CPI-M, TIPRA and Congress claimed of rigging and booth capturing by the BJP on the polling day(April 6). The CPI-M, IPFT and TIPRA have demanded re-poll in 65, 23 and 60-70 booths, respectively.
