In connection with extortion charges and criminal activities two persons were arrested by the Tripura Police (Crime branch) from Ushabazar and Airport area on February 17.

The culprits were recognized as Ranjan Nag and Shibu Malakar. Both were claimed to indulge in extortion from contractors and other crime-related activities in the area.

The police arrested both Ranjan and Shibu earlier this week after complaints were received from the contractors in the area.
