Background scores can make or break a scene. Not only do they convey the emotion of the moment, music is also a fun way of getting the point across. This year, we were blessed with some of the best digital content India has seen in a long time. We also got some beautiful songs.

1) Galliyaan from ‘Bebaakee’
Sung brilliantly by Akhil Sachdeva and Asees Kaur, this song is going to get you emotional, even when you don’t want to. Picturized on the love-hate relationship between the two leads, Sufiyaan and Kainaat, the lyrics resonate with the passion between the two.
2) Labb Par Aaye from ‘Bandish Bandits’
Clearly the standout song from the fantastic soundtrack of Bandish Bandits. Sung by Javed Ali, the track is a classical song you’d not expect in a modern web series. A special mention to Ritwik Bhowmik, the show’s lead actor, who makes the video even more memorable. Shot during a live performance where his entire family and his prospective wife is watching, Ritwik’s lip-syncing and body language makes you believe that he’s the one singing the song. This song became so popular that singers Shilpa Rao and Shibani Kashyap even recommended it as one of their top 5 songs from the year.
3)Theme song from ‘Scam 1992 – The Harshad Mehta Story’
This track proved that you don’t need words to make a song a smash hit. The title track sets the mood perfectly before each episode and it’ll forever be synonymous with the show.
4) Kahan Ho Tum from ‘Mismatched’
If you’re a music lover, you’ll know that trusting Prateek Kuhad is always a great option. With Mismatched, he gave us songs to relive your college crush days. Remember when we listened to romantic songs and cried when we were 17? Well this song is all of that and more.
5) Rabba Khair Kari from ‘Bebaakee’
Sung by Richa Sharma and Digvijay Singh Pariyar, this song is so good, we have been listening to it on loop. Based on the love story between the lead pair, the song is not just soulful, it’s like a giant sloppy kiss to your ears. We love everything about it!
