Don’t you wanna discover the mini Niagra falls in Panimur village which is located in Umrangso Tehsil of Dima Hasao district in Assam. Well, who doesn’t want to explore an awe-inspiring spot? As we all know that Waterfalls are wonders of nature that humans have adored since ancient times. The sight, sound, and feel of waterfalls are what make them so appealing to us. The Northeastern people might be anxious about Niagara falls but yes, there is a waterfall in Panimur situated about 120 Km away from Haflong.
The bird’s-eye view of the scenery attracts a number of nature lovers and photographers into this place. There is a Forest Inspection Bungalow in this place, which can house a few tourists but needs to be booked in advance, especially in the tourist season. Panimoor is the only hill station of the district, and thus, favoured by a number of tourists, especially during winter and spring. The Panimur fall also causes flood in the lower lands during the monsoons.
As in the summer the place becomes quite hot and the water dries down to an extent. The river can be devastating during the monsoon. So it is best to visit the place during autumn and winter or spring as the weather is also soothing and comfortable. The nearest railway station is at Lamding, from where one has to travel by road to reach Panimur waterfall. You can get there easily by road from the heart of Assam you can start from Guwahati.
