Foreign envoys to visit Jammu & Kashmir

A delegation of foreign envoys arrived in Srinagar on a two-day visit to the valley. The delegation includes envoys from 24 countries, Chile, Brazil, Cuba, Bolivia, Estonia, Finland, France, Ireland, Netherlands, Portugal, EU, Belgium, Spain, Sweden, Italy, Bangladesh, Malawi, Eritrea, Cote d’Iviore, Ghana, Senegal, Malaysia, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan.

The delegation will follow India’s February 5 step to restore 4G mobile internet services in the union territory (UT) exactly 18 months after India amended Article 370 to revoke the special status of the erstwhile state.

The envoys will interact with some of the newly elected District Development Council (DDC) members, with the government looking to highlight the result of the maiden DDC elections as a sign of the indigenous people’s faith in “grassroot democracy” and their refusal of any interference of external forces in, as the Centre says, India’s internal mater.
