At least 12 civilians were injured when a grenade lobbed by militants at security personnel missed its target and exploded on a busy road in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday. All of the injured civilians have been rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
According to officials, militants hurled a grenade at a bunker of 41 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in the Chowk Kakapora area of Pulwama district. Missing the bunker, the grenade exploded on a busy road, injuring as many as 12 civilians.
Pulwama Police have registered a case in this regard under relevant sections of the law. An investigation has been launched into this terror crime. Security forces have cordoned off the area in Pulwama’s Chowk Kakapora and a search operation is underway to identify and apprehend the militants.
