According to top government sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Washington, DC, and New York in the last week of September. It will be his first trip to the US since President Joe Biden took office earlier this year.
According to sources, if the schedule works out as planned, the window of opportunity being considered is September 22-27. This will be Modi’s first meeting with Biden in person. At least three times this year, they have virtually met: at the Quad Summit in March, the Climate Change Summit in April, and the G-7 Summit in June.
Modi was supposed to travel to the UK for the G-7 summit, where he could have met Biden, but the trip had to be cancelled due to the second Covid-19 outbreak in India.
