PM Modi to visit United States for First in-person Quad Leaders Summit

On September 24, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to the United States for the first in-person Quad Leaders Summit. On September 25, he will deliver a speech to the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

On Monday night, the White House announced that “US President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. will host the first-ever Quad Leaders Summit on September 24 at the White House.” President Biden is looking forward to welcoming Prime Ministers Scott Morrison of Australia, Narendra Modi of India, and Yoshihide Suga of Japan to the White House.”

“The Biden-Harris Administration has made elevating the Quad a priority, as evidenced by the first-ever Quad Leaders-level engagement in March, which was virtual, and now this Summit, which will be in-person,” according to the statement. The Biden-Harris Administration’s priority of engaging in the Indo-Pacific, including through new multilateral configurations to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century, is demonstrated by hosting the Quad leaders.
