According to news agency ANI, which cited a senior police official, at least 23 people have been arrested in connection with the UPTET 2021 paper leak.
The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2021, which was supposed to take place on Sunday, was postponed after reports of paper leaks in Mathura, Ghaziabad, Meerut, and Bullandshahr surfaced before the exam.
“Only a few photocopies of the exam papers were discovered among those arrested. In a month’s time, the exam will be repeated. The STF will investigate the case and take action against those who are found guilty “ANI quoted Prashant Kumar, additional director general (law and order), as saying.
The case will be investigated by the Special Task Force, according to Uttar Pradesh’s basic education minister, Dr Satish Dwivedi (STF). “Within a month, the Uttar Pradesh government will conduct the exam,” Dwivedi said.
UPTET 2021 will be held again in a month, and no additional fee will be charged to candidates, according to Dwivedi.
UPTET is a once-a-year exam that allows candidates to become eligible to teach in state-run schools at the primary and upper primary levels.
The primary level UPTET 2021 was scheduled to take place between 10 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. at 2,554 locations across UP, followed by an upper primary level test from 2.30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 1,754 locations.
UPTET had a total of 12,91,628 candidates registered for the first shift and 873,553 for the second shift.
