Uttarakhand officials arrested for fraud Covid testing at Kumbh Mela

Two Uttarakhand officials have been suspended for their suspected involvement in the bogus COVID-19 testing fraud that took place during the Kumbh Mela in Haridwar.

On Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s instructions, Mela officer (medical and health) Dr. Arjun Singh Sengar and officer-in-charge (medical and health) Dr. N.K. Tyagi were suspended on August 26 night.

The move is based on the findings of an investigation committee established by the Haridwar District Magistrate to investigate the phoney testing fraud.
