Cricket selector arrested for taking money from many players

Coach Kulbir Rawat, who has been arrested for collecting money from many players, has named Bikash Pradhan, a selector from the Sikkim Cricket Association, in the fraud.

Young aspiring players are being extorted money by a selector who promises them a spot in state squads and IPL clubs.

The case is being investigated by Gurugram police, and Pradhan will be notified soon to join the investigation.

According to a chat transcript between Kulbir Rawat and a person named Ashutosh Bora, some significant figures linked with state-level cricket associations are likely to be involved in the scam.

According to the police, the talk includes UP Cricket Association Vice President Mahim Verma, selector Akram Khan, and Uttarakhand Cricket Association CEO Aman.

Rawat also mentioned in the chat that he had been involved in the selection of candidates through the UP and Uttarakhand cricket organizations on multiple occasions.

A massive sum of approximately Rs 35 lakh was moved from Bora’s firm’s account to Rawat’s account.

Bora’s account was credited with more than Rs 2 lakh, which was transferred to Bikash Pradhan’s account.

Other than that, the name of Nabam Vivek, the current President of the Arunachal Cricket Association, has also appeared in the investigation.

Meanwhile, Karma Sonam, Joint Secretary of the Sikkim Cricket Association (SICA) has issued a show-cause notice to Pradhan for his suspected role in the scam and plans to fully assist with the investigation.
