According to reports, 3 people have been killed and 15 injured in the explosion that occurred in a building near Karachi University’s Maskan gate in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area on Wednesday morning. Rescue operations are underway and the injured have been shifted to hospitals for medical treatment. 

Shortly after the blast, local police issued a statement saying that the blast happened due to the explosion of a gas cylinder inside the building, but it was later withdrawn after rescue & investigation teams found traces of explosive materials from the debris of the building. The Police have cordoned off the scene and an investigation into the blast is underway.
