Arunachal: Mechuka Valley opens for Adventure Enthusiasts with ATVs & Kayaks

Arunachal Pradesh’s picturesque Mechuka valley is all set to welcome adventure enthusiasts with all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and kayaks for all those craving for a fun-filled and adventurous trip.

The Mechuka Adventure Park at Chupala in Shi-Yomi district now has a fleet of five ATVs/quad bikes and three kayaks, which were flagged off by Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly speaker Pasang D Sona on Saturday.

With this, the adventure aficionados can now drive around the Mechuka valley on the ATVs and enjoy nature’s delight or can jump into the kayaks and feel the might of the Yargyap Chu River.

The Mechuka Adventure Park already offers paragliding as one of its adventure activities while zip lining would also be included in the park’s exciting activity list soon. Sona commended Bengia Seeker and his team, which manages the park, for coming up with the adventure activities in the park.

He exuded hope that such activities will surely attract more visitors, especially adventure enthusiasts to Mechuka and provide employment opportunities for the youths of the area. The Speaker, however, suggested the adventure park’s managing team not to compromise with safety measures.

“Make sure that the facilitators of adventure activities got through proper training,” he said.

Later, the Speaker along with Shi-Yomi superintendent of police Gothombu Dajangju, Mechukha circle officer Honjon Perme and others tried their hands on the quad bikes and drove them all the way to Mechuka town.

Nestled some 6000 feet above sea level in the Shi-Yomi district the surreal and scenic Mechuka valley is popularly known to be nature’s paradise for adventure and nature enthusiasts.
