Arunachal: Raj Bhawan Observes Rashtriya Ekta Diwas

The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) participated in the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebration at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar on Saturday. The Governor along with his wife Neelam Mishra, staff and officials participated in the function and paid floral tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, known as the Iron man of India.

The Governor on the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas recalled the contributions of Sardar Patel, credited with achieving political integration of India immediately after the Independence and accomplished the colossal task of obtaining accession of over 562 princely States in India. 

He called upon the people of the state to imbibe the ideals of Sardar Patel and advised all to strengthen Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his mission of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.’ He also recalled the proactive initiatives of Sardar Patel in ensuring the joining of Jammu & Kashmir and Hyderabad with the Indian Republic. The governor said that many people contributed in the development of Independent India, but the most genuine and bold contribution was made by Sardar Patel. Speaking on the occasion he also urged people of the state to continue the endeavor to reinforce the spirit of unity and nationalism.
