Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated the much awaited Ganeshguri flyover in Guwahati today. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Public Works Department (PWD) minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Guwahati Development Department (GDD) minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya among other officials.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said, “The bridge has been constructed in a record time of 19 months.” He further added that the completion of the bridge within such a short span shows the dedication of the state government towards good governance.
Assam minister Himanta Biswa Sharma in a tweet described the 425.5 metre flyover worth Rs 58.74 crore as an epitome of the dedication shown by the Public Works Department team despite difficulties faced due to the Covid pandemic.
