In a shocking incident in Assam’s Gohpur district, a son allegedly killed his father following a verbal disagreement between the two.
The incident occurred on Monday, February 28 in the Gohpur region of Assam’s Biswanath district.
The accused son has been identified as Rinku Gunju and the deceased father has been identified as Biren Gunju.
According to the police, the deceased father, Biren Gunju, was in his late 50s.
In addition, according to reports, the father-son duo got into a fight over grocery shopping, which resulted in the father’s death after his son attacked him during the heated argument.
Police arrived on the scene after being alerted to the heinous crime.
The officials then sent the deceased’s body for post-mortem investigations and other medical examinations.
Meanwhile, the incident has caused concern in the Gohpur community, as residents are shocked to witness such a crime.
However, in connection with the alleged murder case, police arrested Rinku Gunju.
The police are currently conducting an additional investigation into the case.
On a regular basis, such shocking incidents of a son murdering his father have been reported in various parts of Assam.
A similar incident occurred on Tuesday, February 22nd, when another son killed his own father in the Barpeta district of Assam after a disagreement over Bidi.
According to the police, the father and son duo got into a big fight after the father requested one more bidi, which is a thin cigarette filled with tobacco flakes and wrapped in a tendu leaf.
Lal Miyan, who was stabbed to death by his son, Samsul Haque, was identified as the victim.
They lived in Kalgachia’s Alipur neighbourhood.
