Ganeshguri flyover to open during Durga Puja

In a move to ease out traffic congestion in the city, the Ganeshguri flyover in Guwahati that is currently under construction will be opened for public during the Durga Puja. This was announced by State PWD and finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. 

The Ganeshguri flyover will connect RG Baruah Road with Bishnu Rabha flyover and is expected to reduce traffic congestion by at least 35%. The 476-metre-long flyover arm is constructed under State Own Priority Scheme-General at a cost of Rs 58.76 crore.

Sarma made the announcements while kicking-off the construction work of another flyover at Maligaon today. The 2992-metre-long flyover from Maligaon towards Kamakhya Gate with a diversion from Maligaon towards Pandu will be the longest in Assam.
