Union Minister of State Kiren Rijiju condemned the arrest of journalist Arnab Goswami on Wednesday. In a tweet the union MoS stated, “How can you false arrest someone just because you don’t like him? I condemn the forceful arrest of journalist Arnab Goswami.”

Notably, Goswami was arrested by Mumbai Police CID on Monday for allegedly abetting the suicide of interior designer Anvay Naik and his mother in 2018. The Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh informed that the case was reopened after Naik’s daughter demanded for a re-investigation.

It is to be mentioned here that Goswami has claimed, while talking to ANI that he along with his family members were manhandled and physically assaulted by the police during the arrest. Apart from Rijiju many other central leaders and ministers including Prakash Javadekar, Smriti Irani condemned the arrest of Goswami.
