Stadium in Pune to be Named after Olympic Gold Medalist Neeraj Chopra 

The Army Sports Institute in Pune has decided to name the stadium after Neeraj Chopra, who has secured a  Gold medal for India in the Tokyo Olympics 2021; the stadium will be named as “Neeraj Chopra Army Sports Stadium”. 

This will be done by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on August 23. Lieutenant Governor JS Nain and Army Chief MM Narvane will accompany Singh on this stint.

Rajnath Singh will assist the other 16 Olympians and perform a naming ceremony for the stadium during his visit. He’ll also be speaking to the troops and interacting with aspiring sportsmen, among other things. 

World Athletics has named Neeraj’s historic golden throw at the Tokyo Olympics as one of the 10 most magical moments in athletics at the Tokyo Olympics.
