Assam Election: 22 out of 40 seats will be won by BJP, claims Himanta Biswa Sarma

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma claimed that 22 out of 40 seats will be won by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the third and final phase of the Assam Assembly polls. Sarma, along with his family, cast their votes in the Amingaon Bengali High school polling station around 11 am.

“There are 40 seats in this phase, we are expecting to win 22 of them; the number can be higher. We are sure that NDA will form the government in Assam,” Sarma said.

The Assam polls for 126 seats are being held in three phases. The first phase took place on March 27, the second phase on April 1 and the last phase on April 6.
