Arunachal: APSCPCR Team visits Yangte school to Probe into Food Poisoning Case

A two-member team of the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (APSCPCR) visited Yangte circle in Kra Daadi district to probe the death of a student due to food poisoning. 

The two-member committee included APSCPCR members Yahung Tekseng and Ngurang Achung who visited Palin and Yangte circles. 

During their two day visit from April 5-6, the child rights members interacted with the school staff, parents, students, medical officer and investigating officer of the case.

It is to be mentioned that a girl child died and over 40 students suffered headache, abdominal pain, diarrhoea and vomiting allegedly due to food poisoning at Christ Care Public School in Yangte circle in Kra Daadi district on March 28 last. 

The committee members were accompanied by S Lego, CDPO, Palin and L Maru Tayuk, legal-cum-probation officer, DCPU, Palin.

The team also inspected the school building along with Biri Taha, circle officer, Yangte.

According to the police, the principal, the cook and the warden of the school were arrested in connection with the incident.

A case has also been registered against them and an investigation is underway.
