Arunachal Pradesh Governor BD Mishra has conveyed his appreciation for all the people involved in ‘Operation Ganga’ launched by the Indian government to bring back all Indian students and citizens to the country from Ukraine.

Governor B D Mishra thanked the evacuation team as the last Arunachalee student reached New Delhi on Saturday last.

Sanata Manglong, who was the last person from Arunachal, was evacuated from Sumy, Ukraine, near the Russian border.

On behalf of the people of Arunachal Pradesh, especially the parents and the state government, the governor expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the great human welfare effort.

He also thanked Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju for his role in the safe evacuation.

He also commended the officers of the External Affairs Ministry, Rijiju’s office and Arunachal Bhavan, New Delhi for their coordination and prompt actions at all his requests.

The governor suggested setting up a permanent cell in the State Higher Education and Technical Department to record and monitor the Arunachalee students’ details pursuing higher studies abroad so that their welfare is always promoted by the state government.

In the hours of crises also, this cell will be an effective medium in coordination, he said.
