Arunachal Govt Procures 60,000 Facemasks in Tri-colour For Students

With an aim to inculcate the feeling of nationalism among students, the Arunachal Pradesh government has procured thousands of face masks in tri-colour to be distributed among school children as the schools are scheduled to reopen from November 16.

“The state government has decided to open schools for class 10th and 12th from November 16. With this, the government has also approved the purchase of 60,000 khadi cotton face masks from Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) for students.” a govt statement said.

The KVIC supplied the mask to the state government in just six days in view of the urgency. The KVIC delivered the consignment by air to ensure timely delivery. The  Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) ministry in its statement said that the aim of this exercise is to instill a sense of nationalism among students. To manufacture these masks, the KVIC has especially used Double Twisted Khadi fabric as it helps the mask to retain 70 per cent of the moisture inside and allows easy passage of air through it.
