Arunachal Pradesh’s Itanagar Capital DC Talo Potom has directed the executive engineer of PWD CD-A to come up with a list of unauthorised structures obstructing the passage of rainwater to natural drains in Itanagar.

DC Talo Potom sought the list within seven days for necessary action and took note of the water overflowing from drains near the Arunachal Pradesh State Legislative Assembly, leading to obstruction of the drain water at Abotani Colony.

The DC also directed all the managers of the private banks located along the tri-junction to replace/ remove the RCC slabs by placing cattle traps or to initiate any other measure which would be necessary to stop the overflow of water into the sector roads.

DC Potom informed that necessary directions would also be passed to highway authorities for regular cleaning and maintenance of drains along the highways.

He also carried out a survey from Abo Tani Colony to the bridge point (near Waii Apartment) leading towards Mowb II in Itanagar on Wednesday to facilitate smooth traffic.

An order was issued by DC Talo Potom on July 4 directing to facilitate parking of LMVs/ two/three wheelers only on the left side from the entry point of Abotani Colony (opposite ANSU office) to the bridge point (near Waii Apartment) leading towards Mowb II to regulate one-side parking at Abotani Colony.

DC along with EE Tarh Gungkap, AE Tadu Taka, AIMWA president Dado Tajuk and members of Colony Welfare Association inspected the entire stretch of sector road.

DC requested the shopkeepers and the residents to abide by the order of one-side parking.

He asked them to cooperate with the administration by passing on the information to others.
