Arunachal might start receiving tourists after October

Arunachal Chief minister Pema Khandu while attending the second day of the ‘Destination North-East 2020’ virtual meet hinted on the possibility of re-opening the state and hosting tourists after October while following the laid down COVID-19 gudelines issued by the Centre from time to time.

He said that the tourism sector has suffered a lot in the last six months due to the ongoing pandemic, affecting the livelihood of thousands and also denting the state’s revenue collection.

“If everything goes well, after October we will be open to visistors,” he said.

He also lauded the DoNER Ministry and the North Eastern Council (NEC) for organizing the virtual festival that aims to boost tourism in the Northeastern states post COVID-19.
